What Time's Kickoff?

Writer's picture: Gayle RogersGayle Rogers

This is the working title for a story of love and loss inspired by the shared memories of those who knew and loved Duncan Edwards.

Duncan died as a result of injuries sustained in the 1958 Munich Air Disaster. He was 21 and was on track to become one of the most famous footballers of all time - both in England and across the globe.

Duncan is the subject of my ongoing academic research and his commemoration was the focus of my PhD thesis (completed in 2017) with the International Football Institute (the research arm of the National Football Museum at UCLan).

This is a working title page/book cover. I am exploring drawing the book with a distinct red monotone to reflect his Manchester United strip.
