Pressing Matters

So Small Press Day 2025 is looming (in a good way) and I'm excited to be part of the day's celebrations happening at the Workers Gallery, South Wales.
Small Press Day is a national event led by a wonderful group of volunteers who collect us all up under one small press banner and get us all celebrating the small press community of zine makers, comic creators and small or self publishers in the UK.
The Workers event is a social get together, where creatives can sell, swop and share their work to a captivated audience of zine and comic lovers! I'll be there with some of my zines - hopefully a new one!
In the afternoon I'll be leading family creative workshops for the Friends of the Wattstown Memorial Park as the launch event for 'Rhondda Drawn and Read'. This will be a comics creation project with the local community of the Rhondda Fawr and who knows where that adventure will take us! I'll be collecting stories to be re-imagining through writing and drawing workshops with the community over the next few months. The results will come together as a celebratory anthology of comic 'lushness'!
There are so many stories that need to be told and shared. I can't wait to see what is created and I'm privileged to be charged with putting all the work together and supporting others in their creativity. H
