I always try to experiment and push myself physically and mentally when I am creating my work. It is not always possible for me to work outside and working large scale has further problems. So every couple of months I tape or pin a large area of paper to a wall and I draw on it. It can be very physically demanding and often frustrating - needing to scale up my mark marking and fill in large areas. I struggle with speed - I like to work quickly but it can be a slow process. I am working a new piece in my studio ( the one pictured was created during a residency last year).

I need bigger pastels and bigger pieces of charcoal...and more time.
