There is nothing like getting together now that we are more able to do so. I was over the moon to be invited to present my research exploring the fan-led commemoration of the 1958 Munich Air Disaster at the International Conference of the PSA SPorts and Politics Group at Aveiro University in Portugal last week.
As well as the wonderful conference packed with awesome presentations and networking over great food, we also had a VIP Tour of FC Porto and Aveiro Museum - both really inspiring and very welcoming places to visit. I highly recommend Aveiro as a place to visit especially if you love architecture, natas, saltmarshes and cycle touring (as it is very flat & has great bike hire companies).
I am not affiliated to a University so it was lovely to be immersed in a fabulous education cohort of passionate and learned scholars. For my presentation/paper to be voted as the 'best' early career researcher presentation was a real boost to my confidence & the prize of a Routledge book coupon is perfect! I had a great time and I'm looking forward to getting to my next conference! Thanks to everyone who encouraged me to go and welcomed me when I was there.
