Feeling 50s

Part of my research and development for my graphic novel based on the commemoration of my ancestor Duncan Edwards is to get a feel for the era that DUncan was actively playing and growing up in.

The language used and clothes the players and others are wearing (the top right image of a girl with a poodle brooch is of my mum as a girl) give a feel for the era - which feels very much 'black and white'. I've added some additional information on events, music and things like the first publication of 'Bunty' to prompt me to explore the era and year more. There is also a cover image of the book that Duncan finalised just before his death which was published posthumously.

This collage uses images - for educational purposes for my PhD research and are for reference only.
